If there is one diamond shape I love it is the emerald shape. I have made so many stunning bespoke emerald cut diamond engagement rings for clients using this shape over the years, loved by celebrities such as Amal Clooney, Cheryl Cole, Kim Kardashian and so many more. It is an engagement ring choice that can look so right but I have also seen so many get it so wrong…🙄

The measurements and set up of the facets will dictate the look of the stone. In layman’s terms emerald cuts can be long and thin, short and fat and there is also that perfect emerald in between with the perfect proportions which is the one I will use. With emerald cuts or most fancy shape diamonds it is very important not to focus on the carat weight but pay very close attention to the measurements and symmetry.

Each GIA certified emerald cut diamond I use will generally have a high clarity and be hand selected, it is vital when choosing an emerald cut diamond not to rely on what a certificate says with regard to clarity as a poor VS2 can still have visible inclusions which can ruin the look but if the right stone is selected by a highly trained diamond specialist like myself you might even be able to use an SI1 or SI2 depending on what type of inclusion and its location within the stone. In larger diamonds in this shape there is no where for inclusions to hide. It is all about that Art Deco feel with this stone so for those who love clean parallel lines this is the diamond for you.
